The undefeated NRHEG girls basketball team was awarded the top seed in the Sub-section 2AA South Tournament on Wednesday.

WASECA — Matt Carlson scored 17 points, but the Waseca Bluejays defense was too tough for the Panthers on Tuesday in a 67-42 nonconference loss to end the regular season.

PINE ISLAND — The Triton boys basketball team could not duplicate one of their only wins this season in a 71-36 loss to Pine Island on Friday.

CHATFIELD — The Triton wrestling team won a play-in match against Pine Island 34-31, but then lost to top-seeded Chatfield 54-15 in the Section 1A Tournament on Thursday.

DODGE CENTER — The Triton girls basketball team kept it close, but No. 2 (A) Goodhue was just too much for the Cobras.

The Cobras are looking to make some noise now and in the future

JANESVILLE — John Rumpza had a career night with 18 points and 21 rebounds to lead the Blooming Prairie boys basketball team to a 46-41 win over J-W-P on Friday.

NEW RICHLAND — Tyler Sorenson had a double-double with 22 points and 11 rebounds and the NRHEG boys basketball team cruised to a nonconference win Monday.

KENYON — Two late pins helped the NRHEG wrestling team beat Pine Island 35-33 in a nonconference match Thursday at the Kenyon-Wanamingo triangular. The Panthers also lost 45-15 to K-W.

FARIBAULT — The Medford boys basketball team played one of its best games of the season, but lost to a tough Bethlehem Academy team 65-51 on Thursday in Gopher Conference action.
