People's Poetry

Stronger

I push the thoughts away,
but they find their way back.

Some days I just want to cry,
Because its too hard to hold back.

Trying to stay positive and brave,

The Sounds of the Train

It was 3:00 A.M. on 11-25
And the train sounded close

It was like next door
Instead of 3 miles away

The cold and quiet November air
carried the sounds loudly and distinctly

The Road to the Savior

The Bible says some wise men were dwelling in the East,
Astrologers who found a star, its brilliance did increase.
The Magi were not Jews but scholars searching prophecies;

What does Christmas mean to you?

What does Christmas mean to you?
Does it find you nervous, broke, and blue?

Do you dread going shopping the last few weeks?
Deciding on a train or a doll that squeeks?

A Veterans Day Tribute

By: Kathy Megyeri

His shiny trumpet sits silently in its black case,
No more will he play taps for those fallen soldiers at Fort Snelling,

The Fall of Layality

I pass it every time
on my way to town
on county road 45;
the rolled up clump
is there, is noticed —
if there aren’t other
distractions like cell phones
or face to face conversations

The Fall of Layality

I pass it every time
on my way to town
on county road 45;
the rolled up clump
is there, is noticed —
if there aren’t other
distractions like cell phones
or face to face conversations

A Mother’s Goodbye

I must go now
I do not mean to cause you
Sadness or sorrow
But I must go now
Please do not mourn for me
The tears you shed
Let them be few

For I must go now
It has been so long

October/Autumn is Here

October is a fun month, fall colors and Halloween,
Trees are yellow, red and gold, the prettiest you’ve ever seen.

Homecoming, football games and kids just having fun,

The Herd

OK, so a doe and two fawns don’t make a herd
A doe and two fawns do make a family —
However, a single parent one
Where is the buck?
Probably dreaming of his next conquests.
