They say the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result. I declare that my part of town is cured of insanity after Tuesday’s primary election.

Congratulations to the 667 voters who came out in District 5 on Tuesday, Feb. 7, to cast their vote showing they are aware of the sometimes questionable workings of our local decision-makers.

What a wonderful article I read on the front page of the paper — “Wooded Wonderland” (People’s Press, Feb. 3)

Owatonna is so run over with deer. So, where are they? The second slaughter not one to be found.

The election for a replacement for recently-departed County Commissioner Tom Shea brings a major issue to the table.

Most people in Dodge County will be surprised to know that one of the first bills taken up at the State Capitol this year would weaken township local control.

On Jan. 29, 2012, in Todd Hale’s “Around the Town” column many names were mentioned including mine. The article was not totally correct.

I have concerns with the legislation in Minnesota and the direction we are taking in senior care.

Back on Feb. 23, 2008, a group of local people gathered at the Happy Chef restaurant in Owatonna.

Mother Nature is profligate — spawning millions, caring little which survive. Small wonder we choose a God that cares if the sparrow falls.
